SUBSTANTIVE EDITING

This is a macro look at the organization and structure of your book.

A substantive editor might remove or add sentences, rewrite paragraphs, or move text blocks from one section to another, as necessary.

COPY EDITING AND FACT-CHECKING

Your manuscript is reviewed for style consistency, grammar, punctuation, spelling, repetition, jargon, and correct word usage, such as sound-alike errors.

Fact-checking confirms proper names and dates and quotation accuracy, for example, names of people and their titles, names of businesses, books, buildings, corporations, and organizations.
